Terms of Use

1. Private pilot

Kanon is an experimental, invite-only application for a small group of adults. There is no public signup, paid subscription, guaranteed availability, or promise that the pilot will continue.

2. Adults and invited accounts

A user must be at least 18 years old, use only the invited account assigned to them, keep access to their email and device secure, and provide accurate information when accuracy affects calculations. An invitation may not be transferred or shared.

The operator may suspend or end pilot access to protect another person, investigate misuse, maintain the service, or close the pilot. These Terms do not change any account's current access state.

3. Not medical care

Kanon provides planning, tracking, and educational information. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency services, physical therapy, or individualized care from a licensed clinician. Calorie, macro, exercise, and trend calculations are estimates and may be wrong or unsuitable for a particular person.

A user is responsible for deciding whether an exercise, nutrition target, or activity is appropriate and for stopping if they feel pain, dizziness, illness, or another concerning symptom. Seek qualified medical advice for health decisions and contact local emergency services for an emergency.

4. Current feature boundaries

The current pilot supports passwordless sign-in, onboarding, editable targets, meal planning, exact food logging, limited offline synchronization, and generated home or gym plans. A compatible native build also provides a local unified calendar day after the user grants calendar access. Calendar event details remain on the device and are not uploaded to Kanon's servers. Some displayed destinations remain visibly unavailable.

AI processing, progress-photo storage, accountability-partner sharing, workout-session completion, and reminders are not available today. A recent-authenticated user can download a machine-readable JSON copy of their Kanon application data or schedule recoverable self-service deletion with a seven-day grace period. Invited pilot accounts are technically restricted from AI, photo, and partner capabilities.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to access another person's account, workspace, device data, or authentication material.
• Do not probe, disrupt, automate abuse of, reverse engineer security controls around, or overload the private service.
• Do not upload unlawful content or information about another person without authority.
• Do not use Kanon as the sole record for urgent, clinical, legal, or safety-critical decisions.

6. User content and service operation

A user keeps ownership of information they enter. The user permits the operator and the named infrastructure providers to process that information only as needed to run, secure, back up, troubleshoot, and improve the private pilot as described in the Privacy Notice.

The software, visual system, and non-user content remain the property of their respective owners. An invitation grants only a limited, personal, revocable right to use the private pilot.

7. Experimental service and responsibility

Kanon is provided as an experimental private pilot. Features may contain errors, data may require correction, and service may be interrupted. The operator will use reasonable care, but these Terms do not promise uninterrupted service, specific fitness or nutrition results, or preservation of data beyond the documented backup and recovery process.

Users should keep independent copies of information they cannot afford to lose. Kanon provides a self-service JSON export for that purpose, but the pilot does not promise that the file can be imported back into the app.

8. Privacy and changes

The Privacy Notice explains current collection, device storage, providers, security limits, and unfinished controls. A material legal change receives a new immutable document version.

Kanon will ask the user to review and accept a material new version rather than treating continued use as acceptance.
